I have been doing some more dyeing!  Imagine that!    One is rainbow sock yarn and I have started a pair of socks out of it already.  One is Mr. Moody Blues for my husband, MR. MOODY BLUE himself.   lol   He hates all the bright colors and thinks they look awful so I made him some he would like.  ALL BLUES!  And the last thing I posted are Kelsey’s finished socks.  I hope they fit!

Here is my newest dyed yarn.  Most of it is kool-aid dyeing, but the yellow in the citrus colors (the yellow, orange and green yarn) is actually lemon sugar free jello.  Kool-aid does not have a bright yellow so I thought I would try this and it seemed to work.  In the cornucopia colors (yellow, red, green and dark red yarn) the yellow is acutally from mustard.  I used the same idea just I used mustard in the water/vinager instead of kool-aid because we all know once mustard gets in something it never never never comes out.  LOL   Both have been thoroughly washed and rinsed afterwards in very warm water and they did not fade out.  Thank you to Enchanted Yarn and Fiber for all the lessons! 🙂

I stopped in at a local knitting shop yesterday while I was wedding shopping with my daughter.  OMG!  Look what I found.  They are called the Fibersphere.  They are really neat.  They keep your yarn clean and the coolest part is you can put two together and use them to keep your sock yarn from getting all tangled up when you do two socks at once on circular needles.

Today at Enchanted Yarn and Fiber, I took my second dyeing class.  The first was the kool-aid dye.  I did not get a picture of it up but I did get pictures of this class yarn.  🙂    I made 2 skeins of sock weight yarn and I am going to cable ply them.  I can’t wait to see them.  Did I beat you getting up pictures Nancy?  LOL

UPDATE:  I named this colorway  RAINBOW SHERBERT 🙂  that is what it reminds me of

Guess I have been neglecting my blogging for spinning.   I will post what I have done soon. 🙂  Right now I have been spinning soy silk for a shawl.  A VERY IMPORTANT shawl.    It is so soft and very luxurious.  (I have always wanted to use that word, Velma 🙂 does all the time)

Yesterday I started a Toe-Up Sock class at Enchanted Yarn and Fiber.  We learned how to do a seamless toe and it was really  COOL.  Now I can start slow and I did.  I had to do it about three times before I got it right but now look at me.  I added the second sock to the circular needles when I got home and I am chugging right along!  Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy   I am using 0 needles and Lorna’s Laces color 62, Childs Play.   Learning to do two socks at once has been something I have wanted to do for a long long time.  I just can’t stand to make a pair of sock (and I love to make socks) and them not come out exactly the same.  Now I won’t have to worry about that anymore.   But now I have this delima.  I have all these double pointed sock needs I bought.  lol  Oh well I will used them for something! 🙂

Knitting Step by Step

While I did what the pattern said to do I was having issues with my M1 (make one) in knitting the baby surprise jacket.  They looked sloppy.   Jan said go to You Tube and gave me the link to more than one kind of M1 stitch.   I had no idea they had so much on You Tube about this kinda stuff.   Just had to share.  It is always so helpful to be able to see what they are talking about.

After making some of the other purses/totes/bags I made this one that was my own design but incorporating some of the things I have learned making some of the others.  I wanted a knitting project back that stayed open while I was knitting a project from it.  I made the pockets on the side to hold the ball of yarn you are working on.  The elastic helps hold it in the pocket so you can pull your yarn out.  I put the pockets on the outside because I wanted all the room I could get in the inside for the project and things.  Sometimes I find inside pockets get in the way in a knitting bag.  So this time it is my design and several of the materials are Loralie Designs fabric.  The inside fabric is by Loralie and it is called Yarniverse.   I get quite a bit of my Loralie Design fabric from Ebay seller Cricket Court Boutique.  She has good prices and very reasonable shipping costs.   She has been very easy to work with and tries to order whatever I want/need.   This time you have to look at my project inside because I could not wait to put my project in it (HA!) , it is the  baby surprise jacket that I am doing with a knit a long group from Enchanted Yarn and Fiber

Ok here is my progress on the knit a long at Enchanted Yarn and Fibers.  (thanks to Jan)  Is it just me or is this pattern hard to follow and does not give enough details?  I like the pattern and after Jan explains certain rows I get it but I would never have gotten it from the pattern instructions.  This yarn is Katia, Mississippi 3 print, colorway 200.  (from my yarn stash)
