Finally a picture of the finished project.  No, I am not going to model it, might try and get my daughter to and then I will post a picture of her wearing it!  It is still drying but someone has been asking me to post a picture of it!  It is about 18 x 75 finished length and very very soft.

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy – my first skein (thanks for saving this for me Ashley).    I did this last week at EnChanted Yarn and Fibers.  I don’t think I would have thought about saving it so I am glad Ashley did.   I don’t know how many yards it has in it but then I will probably never knit it.  It is just nice to keep and see my progression as I learn to spin.   This week I picked out a large bag of fiber and started spinning.  It is very relaxing.

Well when I started quilting I asked my Aunt who made the quilt I had on my bed as a child and I learned that my Grandmother Hemmes did.  Now I may have been told that before but I don’t remember it.  (Remember I am 52 lol)  My brother and I each had one on our twin bunk beds.  Not long before my Mother passed away in 2003 she gave my brother and I these quilts from her house.  While I would never have gotten rid of it how neat it was to find out my Grandmother actually made these.  (Funny the things you find out when you start asking questions)   So I am guessing it is atleast 48 years old or older now and somewhat yellowed around the edges.  These are hand made and tied not quilted with thread.  Then today after going up to EnChanted Yarn and Fibers to do some spinning I found out something else about the quilt.   I called my Aunt on the way home (as I usually do) and we talked about my learning to spin.  We talked about wool and raising Alpaca and she told me she wished she had kept all of Grandmother’s things now that I was learning to do all this stuff.  That the wool in the quilt (the batting is wool in this old quilt) was from my Great Uncle’s sheep farm (two old bachlor brothers, one of which was a twin to my Grandfather Hemmes) and that Grandmother had hand carded this wool for the batting in the quilt.  Now I think that is just too cool and I wish they had kept all of Grandmother’s tools to do this with, but still just think if I had not started quilting and spinning I would probably never have learned all this stuff.   Maybe doing all this stuff is just in my blood!   Thanks Gramma!

Ebay – Feedback revisions

Ok! all you Ebay sellers out there!  I buy more than I sell on Ebay but still I think the changes to the feedback system are WRONG.  They made it one sided, for Buyers only.  Even if your buyer does not pay or they are unreasonable, nothing they do will matter because you can not leave them negative or neutral feedback.   They say that this gives the buyer a chance to leave honest feedback with out fear of retaliation (from the dishonest seller).  What it really does is give the buyer (the dishonest buyer) the ability to say whatever they want.  No need for them to try and work things out or even give the seller a chance to do anything about the problem.  As a seller I want the customer to be happy and I always try to work things out so that both are taken care of.  I think my feedback shows this.  But there are always those buyers who did not read the auction or who want it to be new even though they are buying used and you can never please those people.  But no problem they are going to be given the chance to ruin your Ebay rating just because you can do nothing about it.  THIS IS A HUGE CAN OF WORMS.  The only way to change this is for the SELLERS TO STOP SELLING!  Without SELLERS there will be no need for BUYERS.  Buyers do not pay the PayPal or Ebay feeds so I guess if we stop selling, they will stop making money.

I finally bought a camcorder….yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy  The search is over.

I love this one so easy to use and easy to get your movies and pictures off of.   This camcorder has a 30gb hard drive and a docking station.  No more dvd’s to buy!  This is a plus believe me.  I can put them right on the hard drive of my computer from the camcorder and email them out and then you just delete them from the camcorder and start over.
