Quilting – Underground Railroad Sampler by Eleanor Burns
September 18, 2008 by Deal's Corner
Ok I got the rest of my material for the quilt
The backing is the large blue and brown. Then there are the 4 beige pieces you need, the binding the flying geese shashing and the border! Now to get it all cut out.

First of all, I love the fabrics! And you say you can’t pick out fabrics!
Next, regarding the cutting, you know there are things you can buy that will automatically cut it for you – you just put in the dimensions. And since I know you personally, I really think you should buy one!
Thank you, thank you…but I had help from the nice ladies at Quilters Attic!
Now what is this thing you are talking about. I think I might need to look into that. lol And you know Randy was just rolling his eyes when I read it to him.
Hi, our group of quilters are thinking of making railroad sampler quilts, one block a month, starting in the new year using the Eleanor Burns book as a guide. How have you got on with yours?
We have done two blocks so far. We do them once a month at our sit and sew at church. But with the holidays and all we have missed a few. We have everything cut out and ready to go though.
Our group are enjoying the project so much that although we intended, like you, to work on one block a month, we have already finished 5! All members are working on a quilt, in various colours, depending on what leftovers we have in. I am actually making 2 at the same time. The first is a ‘keeper’ in muted old fashioned colours with cream background. The second is to give to the hospice for a teenager’s room and is SO bright. The background is all different blacks with stars and the rest is the remainder of the various brights I have from other hospice projects. It looks very different done inthe different palettes.
